FC Berlin showed strength and determination on Sunday but was not able to break the tight defence of an Illyria FC that almost managed to run away with the win at the very end of the match. Our team played our best game so far in this tournament and generated many chances but the Illyria FC goalkeeper proved to be invincible. She was the main reason Berlin could not get a well-deserved win, and as we said before, one of her saves turned into a counter that Berlin keeper Angela Volpe thwarted with just seconds to go.

This tie, in conjunction with the other results of the day, complicated Berlin's chances of making it to the postseason. We need to win the last two games (against the top two teams) and we also need a couple of other results to place 3rd or 4th at the end of the regular season. It was a difficult task right from the beginning, but we now also need a little bit of luck to be on our side as well.
