FC Berlin put on an spectacular performance on Sunday night. The ladies were forced to play against one of the strongest teams in the league with no keeper and just one sub, due to many absences and injuries, but that did not matter. After a few struggling minutes in which they found themselves trailing 1-2, Berlin took control of the game and dominated a stunned opponent, who could not do anything to stop the relentless attacks of the ladies in pink.
Maaja Fischer scored four goals, with Samantha Murphy just behind her with a hat trick. Having to rotate outside players in net did not affect our team, as Toronto Ballers could barely get any shots, especially in the second half. Berlin finished off their occasional opponent with five goals scored in the last 9 minutes of the match, a testament to their resilience, consistency and concentration.
