FC Berlin Hamilton 2-2 Brant Co FC: Report

It was a bittersweet evening for FC Berlin in Hamilton, as our newest addition hosted Brant Co FC in HMICSL action. After a busy first half that ended without either team being able to get on the scoreboard, Brant Co FC scored first, just six minutes into the second period. Our guys managed to meet the back of the net just a few minutes later, after a quick counter-attack that had Javier Oliva capitalizing on a beautiful pass by Daniel Bassani.

With ten minutes to go, Berlin was awarded a penalty kick; Naaman MacDonald took the shot, which the Brant goalkeeper deflected, but MacDonald could follow through and tap the rebound in. It looked like FC Berlin had everything under control, with so little time left. Brant Co went fully into attack mode, and just when it looked like Berlin was about to bring home the three points, they got rewarded for their efforts. A long ball was sent into the 18 yards, but the Berlin keeper could not control it fully; a Brant striker found the rebound and took a shot that went through many, many legs and ended up kissing the net.

It was, as we mentioned, a disappointing end to what had been a promising evening. Our next game will be on Thursday, May 16th, as FC Berlin Hamilton visits Ancaster FC at Bishop Tonnos Secondary School in Hamilton. This game will kick off at 9:00 PM EST
